I think Madeline is "angling" to get a puppy of her own - (call me, Madeline, I have some experience in this area).

The cake is vanilla, the fur is a caramel buttercream. The food dish is cake covered in fondant with malted chocolated candies for dog food. The bone, eyes, nose, toungue, bow and collar are all made out of fondant. I started with a 9X13 base and then stacked rounds on top to carve the dog shape. The ears and tail are separate pieces I cut out and attached. I pre-iced the form and then put the fur on with the hair tip.
