Mini Mouse 1st Birthday Cake

Lauren is turning 1, and she is well-loved.  So, a BIG birthday bash was in order.  Mini mouse cake, cupcakes and cakeballs. All decorations are fondant.  The mouse silhouette on the bottom tier were cut out of 3 circles of black fondant (the cookie cutter I ordered to do this is still on a  boat somewhere between here and China -- shouldn't have trusted their shipping estimate.)
Also learned a lesson about how heavy cakes are -- but that's another story.
Hope birthday number 2 is just as fun!

Mini Mouse Cake Balls

Made ears by making drops of black chocolate wafers on a sheet of waxed paper, and chilled until they were hard.  Red bows are 2 hearts cut out of red modeling chocolate, with white polka dots made from royal frosting applied by dipping the head of a pin in the frosting and then dotting the bows.
Cake balls were then dipped in black chocolate and ears and bows were put in place while the chocolate was still wet.

Lazer Tag Birthday Cake

Mom added glow sticks to finish out this Glow in the dark lazer tag cake.  The balls are sour gumballs.

Fashion Star Cake

JR loves the show "Fashion Star", and even drew a picture of the show for a cake (see below).  I'd never seen the show, so I pulled it up online, and I have to say that I LOVE THIS SHOW!  so fun.
All Figures are fondant, The table is rice crispie treats with edible ink logos.  The backdrop is not edible.

Luau Graduation Cake

One of my favorite things is to try to figure out how to make something "work".  This is the skeleton behind the palm trees.

Rainbow Unicorn Butterfly Cake

A rainbow of colors inside and out

Willie Wonka Cake

It's not unusual for me to want to stay after a cake delivery to be part of the party.  But this was the funnest birthday party set=up.  Tons of jars of candy, big candy sculptures, and lots of bling, this is one party I wanted to stay.
This is also the kind of cake that I wish I had a few more house to complete.  There are so many fun candy possibilities here.  Decorations are fondant, and various candies.  The hat is made from rice crispie treats..

Graduation Cakes

Six good friends off to college.  It's been a long and fun journey from kindergarten to graduation for four of them.    Each had an individual cake of his choosing adorned with his future college logo and band instrument (they all played in the Hebron band).  Good luck, graduates!

Sadie's Wedding Cake

Sadie sent me a picture of a cake she wanted for her wedding.  It was all white and had lime green accents in the ribbon, grapes and flowers.    I like her blue/purple version too.  They needed significantly fewer servings than this cake would produced if made entirely of cake, so the middle two tiers are cake forms.  Congratulations Sadie.
